About Us

Storm Lake Iowa's LighthouseThe Storm Lake Area Development Corporation (SLADC) is a not-for-profit corporation based in Storm Lake, Iowa, which serves all of the communities of Buena Vista County.

Our Mission

The mission of the Storm Lake Area Development Corporation is to improve, identify, and act upon opportunities to create an environment conducive to improving wealth creation for the residents of Buena Vista County.

The Storm Lake Area Development Corporation is funded by grants from Buena Vista County, the communities of the county, and member investments. Since early 2001, the organization has been housed in the Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce office and shares staff with that organization. Board members are a cross-section of business and community leaders elected by the membership.
